Wendy Lynn (Bolls) Kahland left this world on March 6, 2026 at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 60. Wendy was born to Jean Tracy (Shamburg Bolls) and Earl Bolls in Fairbury, Nebraska on January 24, 1966. She is survived by her husband Martin "Porkchop" Kahland Sr.; daughter Haley (Jay) Potwin; sons Martin Kahland Jr., and Nathan Kahland; mother Jean Tracy; aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, step-father, and grandparents.

After she graduated from high school in Beatrice, Nebraska, Wendy moved to Kearney to attend Joseph's Beauty School to be a hair stylist. After doing hair for a while, she went back to school at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She graduated in 1993 with a major in Human Services. Realizing her calling, she went on to get a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Relations from Doane University. She worked for DHHS for many years, then her dream job opened up and she went to work at UNL Center on Children, Families, and the Law as a training specialist in October of 2006. To quote Wendy "I train new child protective service workers. Best job and place to work EVER!!" She worked there until December 2004.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Easterday Recreation Center, 6130 Adams Street in Lincoln, from 5-8 pm.
