Obituary

Thomas Mansfield Hyde passed away on Friday September 18 after a 3-year battle with cancer. He was just short of his 61st birthday which would have been October 1st. He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. Fritz C. Hyde III. He is survived by his mother Martha Mansfield Hyde, Martha's partner Dwight Hildebrand who talked to Tom multiple times a day, and his brother Fritz C. Hyde IV and his family.

Tom's happiest times were traveling the world, especially the times he spent competitively riding horses in Worlington, England. His favorite horse to ride was a horse named Warwick. Tom also loved to listen to classic rock music. He got to see AC/DC on their 2009 Black Ice tour to Omaha with his brother and his friend dressed as Angus Young. Tom had an artistic side that showed in the cards he sent his family and the artwork that we shall continue to cherish. Tom will be missed by his family and those who knew his intellect and quick-witted humor.

The family gives thanks to the staff at Lasting Hope Recovery Center (415 S 25th Ave., Omaha, NE 68131) who provided decades of care for Tom. Also we thank the staff from Hospice House - The Josie Harper Residence (7415 Cedar St, Omaha, NE 68124) who provided excellent end of life care to him. Donations to either of these organizations would honor Tom's memory.
