Ted Clifton
Cook
Jan 2, 1952 — Sep 18, 2026
Ted Clifton Cook, 74, of Falls City, Nebraska, passed away on September 18, 2026. Ted was born on January 2, 1952, in Yokosuka, Japan, to Setsuko Cook and Teddy Cook, a proud member of the United States Navy. At the age of 5, Ted moved to the United States, beginning a lifelong adventure that would take him across the country.
After graduating from Ventura College, Ted found his true calling at the age of 21 when he entered the vibrant world of live gaming in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dealing cards was more than just a job for Ted—it was his lifelong passion. He spent 25 successful years in Las Vegas before moving to Kansas, where he continued his gaming career as a skilled dealer and respected pit boss at both the Golden Eagle Casino and Prairie Band Casino.
Outside of the casino, Ted was a devoted family man who loved nature and had a deep fondness for animals. He harbored a special love for magic, often delighting his grandchildren with sleight-of-hand tricks and shared laughter.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy and Setsuko Cook, and his late wife, Darlene. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda of Falls City, NE; his daughter, Lori Murrow of Las Vegas, NV; and his sister, Jinnie Rye of Wetmore, KS. He also leaves behind his stepchildren: Jim Peoples and wife Juli of Keller, TX; Mario Ramirez and wife Connie of Holton, KS; Christina Ramirez of Topeka, KS; Sara Ruiz of Falls City, NE; and Amanda Ruiz of Topeka, KS; as well as 10 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Ted's warm presence, quick wit behind the card table, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local animal shelters in honor of Ted's love for animals.
