Obituary

Susan Kaye (Paulsen) Daly, a woman with a zest for life and a smile that could light up a room, was called to make Heaven a brighter place on March 31, 2015 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer. Susan was born to Mary and Bill Paulsen in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 8, 1953. She attended Ralston High School, where she met many of her lifelong friends. On May 1, 1987 she married the love of her life, James Daly, in a ceremony surrounded by friends and family in Ralston, Nebraska. Susan loved life and lived it to the fullest until the very end. She enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, the time she spent with the St. Geralds Boutique ladies, her herbal club meetings, her experience as a daycare provider and making memories with her grandchildren. Left to create memories in her honor are: her husband James Daly, daughters Marie (Matt) Thompson and Joy Daly, her mother and stepfather Mary and George Ardery, her sister Sherry Taylor, her mother in law Lucille Daly and her three grandchildren Caleb, Tanner and Autumn Thompson along with many nieces and nephews. A small luncheon will be held in her honor at St. Geralds Catholic Church, 96th and Q St. Omaha, at 4pm on Thursday April 30th. On May 1st a Celebration of Life picnic will be held, to share memories and begin creating new memories in honor of Susan, at the Halleck Park Pavilion in Papillion Nebraska from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Josie Harper Hospice House or donations for a memorial may also be sent directly to the family. Susan would want everyone to remember she is sending smiles through the miles and that there is no crying in baseball or hockey.
