Sharon Skovbo Straight, 70, of Lincoln, NE, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Holmes Lake Rehabilitation & Care Center in Lincoln, NE. She will be remembered for her warm hospitality and legendary meals. Sharon had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unforgettable aroma of something delicious simmering on the stove. Sharon will be remembered for her love of gardening, canning, and cooking, her joy of crocheting baby blankets for expecting family and friends, and her remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

There will be a Celebration of Sharon's life on Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 PM at the Ansley Municipal Auditorium (619 Main St, Ansley, NE). All are welcome to join, share a favorite memory, and enjoy refreshments.

Sharon was born on September 30, 1954 in Lincolnshire, England. She was the oldest of 3 children to Jens Skovbo II and Moira (Rushforth) Skovbo. As a child, she grew up in Omaha, NE and moved to Ansley, NE as a teenager. She spent a majority of her life in Ansley while raising 7 children as a single mother. The last 15 years of her life were spent near family in Lincoln, NE where she had the major roll of raising her oldest grandchild.

She is survived by her children: Brandon "Corey" Straight, Dustin Straight (Angie), Tegra Myanna (Emily), Teala Straight (Shawn), Ian Straight, and Gage Straight; her grandchildren Isiah, Emma, Greg, Anakin, Zinaya, Cameron, and Zabella; and her brother Jens "Randy" Skovbo III.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, son, Clinton Straight, and sister, Cindy Callahan.

By her wishes, Sharon's ashes will be interred in an Eternal Reef. In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Sharon Straight Memorial Fund , P.O. Box 80126, Lincoln, NE 68501.
