Roger Joseph Allen, age 72 of Lincoln, NE originally of Cortland, passed away at home with family by his side November 17, 2021. He was born January 4, 1949 in Lincoln to Otis and Myrtle (Rudder) Allen. Roger graduated from Lincoln Northeast with the class of 1967. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Roblyer in 1968. Roger retired from Goodyear in 2006, after a 39 year career. Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, NASCAR and Shuffleboard. He was inducted into the Omaha Metro Shuffleboard League Hall of Fame in 1990. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Roblyer Allen of Lincoln; daughter Angela (Sam) Garrett of Bentonville, Arkansas; grandchildren Zachery Bradshaw, Nicole (Chris) Crittenden, Joseph (Shadow) Allen, Tyler Allen, Abigail Garrett and Owen Garrett: 8 great-grandchildren; brother Lee (Lois Wenzel) Allen; sister Joyce (Richard) Ware; sister-in law Karen (Dale) Johnson; many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; son Jamie S Allen; grandson Jack A Garrett; and Sister Betty Dudley. Roger's request was for cremation without any formal services. A small gathering of family and friends will be held at a later day. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
