Rex Lee Harwood of Beatrice, formerly Denton, passed away June 22, 2022. He was born in Lincoln to Donald and Eunice Harwood on November 13, 1966. Rex grew up on a farm just west of Denton where he lived for most of his life. He worked for the Seward County Department of Roads before opening My Place Bar and Grill in Goehner in 2005. He started driving trucks over the road in 2006. He started his own company Harwood Trucking and later on Harwood Roadside Service and Towing. Rex loved going fishing and camping and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking and grilling for everyone. He loved picking on his nieces and nephew and teaching them ornery thigs. And he loved visiting his great nephew and nieces. Rex is survived by his siblings Donald Jr. (Jean) Harwood of Crete, Ronald Harwood of Seward, Carrie Harwood of Lincoln, Sheri Conard of Lincoln; nephew and nieces Donny (Bree) Harwood of Lincoln, Ashley (Lucas) Mitchell of Lincoln, Lindsay (Spencer) Bailey of Lincoln, Alexandra Harwood of Michigan, Jessica (Joe) Bare of Montana, Courtney Harwood of Montana, Haleigh Conard of Lincoln; great nieces and great nephews Ayla and Zym Harwood, Aria and Amelia Mitchell; Kash, Olivia and Eloise Bailey. He was preceded in death by both parents Don and Eunice Harwood; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The celebration of life for Rex Harwood will be held at the Denton Legion from 2-5 pm on Thursday, July 14. Please come share good memories and remember the fun times spent with him in his honor.
