Peggy Ellen Sutton was born on August 28, 1956, in Panama City, Panama, to Thomas Sutton and Patsy Stokes. She passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at Bryan Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her beloved children: Jacob Nelson and his wife Valerie of Kyiv, Ukraine; Krista Nelson of Concord, NC; Jesse Nelson and his wife Linda of Concord, NC; and Mercedes Nelson of Omaha, NE. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren: Gabrielle, Keira, Ariana, and Jesenya, who were the light of her life and the source of her happiest moments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Patsy, and her sister Donna.

Peggy found joy in the beauty of the mountains along the West Coast, Washington, and Oregon. She cherished spending time with her family, especially playing trivia games—always reaching for the Blueberry Pie.

Peggy will be remembered for her boundless love, laughter, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and family that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
