Panee
Sricharoen
Feb 15, 1940 — Nov 17, 2025
Panee Sricharoen, 85, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1940, in Thailand to the late Sunthorn and Sa-Ngium, and was the beloved wife of Viraphong Sricharoen.
A lifelong educator and scholar, Panee graduated with honors at the top of her class, earning a college degree in Physics and Mathematics. She devoted her career to teaching high school students, inspiring generations of young minds who went on to pursue successful paths as physicians, dentists, pharmacists, and engineers. Her dedication to learning and teaching reflected her belief in the transformative power of knowledge.
Panee was also a devoted Buddhist who found great peace and meaning through the study and practice of meditation. Her life embodied kindness, humility, and compassion, qualities that touched everyone who knew her.
After many cherished visits to the United States, Panee immigrated from Thailand in June 2025 and was awaiting permanent residency. She enjoyed her time surrounded by family and the beauty of her new home in Omaha.
Panee is survived by her loving husband, Viraphong; her son, Dr. Nat Sricharoen, a cardiologist at the Omaha VA Medical Center, and his wife, Ubonwan; and her three grandchildren, Nont (a pediatric resident in Chicago), Nan (a fitness and exercise specialist in Austin, Texas), and New (an engineer in College Station, Texas). She is also remembered by her brother, Prasong, and sisters, Malee and Sunee, along with many dear relatives and friends in Thailand and abroad.
Panee's gentle spirit, wisdom, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
