Lyle J. Roucka, 88, of Fremont NE, died March 6, 2026, as a result of injuries from a fall at home. Lyle was born July 10th, 1937 in Howells to James and Marie (Koren) Roucka. He was the oldest of 8 children, and grew up in Colfax County, NE. He attended school in Howells and Schuyler. He married Judy Vlasak on July 30, 1960. Lyle learned about fixing cars from his Uncle Steve, and went on to work in auto body shops in Schuyler and Fremont until he started his own business, Lyle's Repair in Saunders County, which later became Lyle's Salvage and Repair. He was still working just prior to his accident. Lyle could fix almost anything, and was generous with his time and talent.

Lyle was passionate about racing stock cars, and beginning at age 16 he raced at tracks in Nebraska and Iowa for over 30 years. He loved playing pool and was on several leagues in the Fremont area. Lyle was a serous fisherman, and traveled with his wife Judy and a caravan of friends on many annual fishing trips to Canada. He was outgoing and could talk to anyone, resulting in lots of longtime friendships.

Lyle was proceeded in death by his wife of 60 years, Judy, his parents, his brothers Kenny, Larry, Duane and Keith Roucka. He is survived by his children Diane Roucka and Steven (Diana) Roucka, Siblings Karen Gay, Darlene (Milo) Divis, and James Roucka, Grandchildren Matthew, Tyler, Megan and Colton, and 2 great-grandchildren Willa and Cooper.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorials will be distributed by the family in Lyle's name.
