Obituary

Kurt R. Kleinbeck, 67, of Waverly Nebraska(formerly Omaha), passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his children on July 7th, 2025. He was born July 23, 1957 in Omaha to Keith and Barbara (Rosenbaum) Kleinbeck.

Kurt was a man of integrity, with a dry wit, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty. He was a true do-it-yourselfer. Always fixing, building or tinkering in the garage. Kurt had an unmatched ability to figure things out and make them better. He would never hesitate to help others, and his reliability made him the one people often counted on when life got tough or a car wouldn't start.

Kurt enjoyed being outdoors. Summers were full of growing his veggies in the garden, fishing, mushroom hunting, and spending time at the river with family and friends. In the winter, Kurt was found in a tree stand or road hunting with his sons. He also loved to cook and try new foods and recipes. His famous potato soup will live on for years to come.

Self-taught in many areas of life, Kurt believed in never giving up, keeping your word, and never saying you can't do something. His perseverance and tenacious spirit allowed him to build a beautiful life. He is now reunited with his beloved wife and best friend Kim Kleinbeck, parents, Keith and Barb (Rosenbaum) Kleinbeck, Mother-in-law Cathy Halpine, brothers-in-law Jim Johnson, Andy Miller and Rich Halpine.

He is survived by his children: Dan(Shannon) Kleinbeck of Lincoln, Scott(Alison) Kleinbeck of Waverly, and Jen(Ben) Nienhueser of Waverly; his 12 grandchildren, his sisters Barbie Miller of Iowa, Kathy Johnson of Florida, Denise(Larry) of Omaha, and Becky(Rick) Overman of Omaha and Brother-in-law's John(Wendy) Halpine of Omaha and Steve Halpine of Beatrice and many nieces and nephews.

In honor of Kurts final wishes. There will be no public funeral. A private family service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity promoting the outdoors in Kurt's memory.

Kurt will not only be remembered for what he did, but who he was- a faithful husband, a proud father and grandfather, a dependable son and brother, outdoor enthusiast, skilled thinker, and a man who showed up for people when they needed him. His legacy lives on the family he cherished, the memories made, the stories told and the beautifully crafted projects that bear his fingerprints forever.
