Keith Eugene Stewart

October 28, 1947 – September 27, 2026

Keith Eugene Stewart was born on October 28, 1947, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Keith LeRoy and Defaine Maxine Stewart. He grew up in Nebraska, where he would eventually meet the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Sue A. Miller.

In June of 1965, Keith made the decision to serve his country and joined the United States Navy. He reported to boot camp in San Diego, California, and, after completing his training, was assigned to the USS Yosemite.

During his military service, Keith returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Sue, on December 29, 1965, at Northeast Community Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. Their marriage began a lifelong journey together, filled with love, family, and countless memories.

In January 1968, Keith was reassigned to the USS Strickell, while Sue remained on base in Providence, Rhode Island. While Keith was at sea, their first child, Lori Dee Stewart, was born on August 21, 1968. In March 1969, Keith completed his service in the Navy and returned to Nebraska with his family. In 1971, he began a new career at Speidell Monuments, where he dedicated many years of hard work and service. On March 17, 1971, Keith and Sue welcomed their second child, Kory Lee Stewart.

Keith continued working until his retirement in 2020. He and Sue looked forward to enjoying their retirement years together, but sadly, their time was cut short when Sue passed away on April 2, 2023. Keith carried on with strength and love, cherishing his family and embracing his role as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His family was a source of great pride and joy throughout his life.

On September 27, 2026, Keith passed peacefully from this world. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of his family. After a life filled with devotion to his country, his work, and most importantly, his family, Keith is now reunited with his beloved wife, Sue, and his parents and brother in Heaven. Keith is survived by his daughter, Lori Dee Ray, and her son, Trevor Ray; his son, Kory Lee Stewart, and his wife, Amy Stewart. Kory's family includes his sons, Benjamin Keith Stewart, and his wife, Nicole Stewart, and their children, Payton, Gunner, and Hudson; Carson Stewart, and his wife, Daphne, and their son, Clayton Stewart; Alexander Stewart; Kyle Stewart; and Chad Hanseling. Keith is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Hauschild, and her children, Jerry Hauschild and Mike Hauschild; and Regina Schneider, along with her children, Christina, Jennifer, and Zach.

Keith leaves behind a loving family who will cherish the memories they made with him and carry his love and legacy forward for generations to come. Keith will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Sue A. Stewart, on October 28, 2026, in Ashland, Nebraska. On what would have been Keith's 79th birthday, he will be reunited with his wife, where they will rest together once again.
