Obituary

Keith Robert "Bob" Luedtke, 76, of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully in his home on February 24, 2022 after a long battle with lung cancer. Bob was born January 26, 1946 in Ord, NE to Keith H. and Lydia (Lehecka) Luedtke Bruha. He grew up in Arcadia, NE and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1964. He attended UNL before enlisting in the US Air Force in 1966 where he served for 4 ½ years. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Linda White, on December 31, 1966. He was called "Lucky Luedtke" because instead of Vietnam his first station was Bermuda where Linda could accompany him. Bob was then sent to Montana where he checked the water supply at the underground missile sites throughout the state. Their daughter, Jennifer, was born in Montana in 1971. After discharge, he started a 41-year long career with the City of Lincoln Water Department Treatment Center helping manage the city's water pumping system. During this time, Melissa was born in 1974 and Ryan was born in 1979. He enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's many school, music, and sporting events. He was very proud of his family. Bob had many hobbies including, collecting model cars and trucks, making model scale layouts and buildings for his trains, putting all types of models together, woodworking, reading, computer games, watching You-Tube videos and traveling. When the kids were young, he would pack up the car every summer and they would travel to the mountains to camp or travel across the United States to Disney or the West Coast. He would always stop at every historical marker or take the scenic route. Bob loved his family and will be missed by all his loved ones. They have so many memories, like the times spent panning for gold in Colorado or putting up a tent in the dark after hunting for a campsite way too long. Bob also like to travel on cruises so he and Linda cruised to Hawaii, Alaska, through the Panama Canal, and to the Caribbean. One of their last cruises was back to Bermuda 49 years after they left.
