Karen Ann Svatos, daughter of Thomas Vech and Liberty Krizan Vech was born August 14, 1942 in Oak Park, Illinois. She graduated from Verdigre High School in May of 1960. On September 28, 1960 she married Ralph Svatos. To this union two children where born, Douglas Ray and Tamera (Tami) Renae. Karen lived in the Pierce and Norfolk area until 1983 when she moved to Omaha, staying there until her retirement in 2012. She retired in Verdigre where she lived out her life working for Jehovah, helping others, sewing, canning, and crafts of various kinds. She loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens. On July 5, 2002, Karen was baptized by immersion, dedicating through Jesus Christ to do the will of Jehovah God. Since then, she has devoted her life to being active in the Bible education work and was a Member of the O'Neill Kingdom Hall Congregation from October 2012 until present. Her original congregation was the Elkhorn Congregation. Karen is survived by her two children: Doug (Georgine) Svatos, Olathe, KS and Tami (Doug) Brunk, Grand Island, NE. Grandchildren: Nicole (Jason) Ternus, Hadar, NE: Amber (Todd) Wilcox, Tilden, NE: Dominic Svatos, Oceanside, CA; Ben (Kelli) Svatos, Olathe, KS. Great-Grandchildren: Hailey and Peyton Ternus, and Trapper Wilcox: Siblings: Sharon Swails, Ewing, NE and Roger (Carolyn) Vech, Verdigre, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Svatos and her brother-in-law Jim Swails.
