John R. Sink, Jr., passed away on July 18, 2026, in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 75. John was born on September 27, 1950, in McCook, Nebraska. He grew up in Beloit, Kansas, where he graduated from Beloit High School. During his school years, he worked in the oil fields, developing the strong work ethic that remained with him throughout his life.

He continued his education at Kansas State University before earning his nursing degree in Hays, Kansas. His lifelong interest in understanding the human mind led him to pursue advanced study in psychology, ultimately earning a doctorate in the field. As a psychologist, John spent many years traveling among the Aleutian Islands, providing therapy and care to those he served.

An active and adventurous man, John enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, and golf. His intellectual curiosity also extended to writing, and he was the author of the book Quantum Physics and Religion.

John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Barbara Ray. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Diane Sink; his daughters, Dani Sharp and JoVanna (Carsten) Eisenbarth; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska.
