Janet Hauf August 11, 1964 – May 11, 2022 Janet Denise Hauf, 58, of Lincoln, passed away with family at her side on May 11, 2022. Janet fought a courageous fight against cancer. She is now home and free of any pain. Born to parents Jimmie and Donna (Ganskow) Hauf on August 11, 1964, in Tilden NE, she was the youngest of 5 siblings. Janet graduated from Aurora High School where she made many lifelong friends. She eventually moved to the Dallas, Texas area and worked in a warehouse. It was in Texas, she gave birth to her pride and joy, her daughter, Linsey Paige Hauf on March 31, 1995. Janet moved back and forth between Nebraska and Texas over the years and touched the lives of many people. She had one daughter, Linsey, who she loved "to the moon and back". She loved her family with her whole heart and would do anything she could for a friend. She loved to laugh and make others laugh. She just wanted to see them smile. She had a passion for hummingbirds, planting flowers and gardens and making crafts – her most recent was diamond paintings. She loved to take her dog, Mae, on long drives in the country and finding a good camping spot to pitch a tent and camp and fish. She loved to dance and listen to country music. She also loved talking to cousins and friends until wee hours in the morning. Janet was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny (who passed at birth), and Alan Lee Hauf and her parents, Jim and Donna Hauf. She asked that in lieu of flowers to give to the American Cancer Society.
