Dick met his current significant other, his "Fishing Buddy," Jan Conrad, in 2015. Throughout his life, Dick belonged to Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts where he earned the Eagle rank, Demolay, Master Counselor, Bass fishing groups, H.O.G., and ABATE. In his free time he enjoyed golfing in which he shot his age, riding his Harley, shooting pool, target shooting, working on cars, building and fixing things, and fishing. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Ivan Fitzsimmons, mother, Helen Beastall, step-father Ike Beastall, step-mother Betty Fitzsimmons, brothers Leon and Harvey Fitzsimmons, and wife, Barb Fitzsimmons.
