Obituary

Hollis Adele (Carlson) Pavlik died at her home on November 23, 2019, after a short battle with cancer. Holly, the daughter of Dr. James and Barbara (Claussen) Carlson, was born in Neligh, NE and grew up in Verdigre Nebraska and graduated from Verdigre High School in 1981. She completed the fashion merchandising program at Patricia Stevens Career College then attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion while her mother completed her doctoral program in education. Holly married Greg Pavlik in December of 1984 and they were blessed with five children. In 1994 she completed the medical assistant program at Omaha College of Health Careers and received her certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants. She worked at the Immanuel Family Practice clinics until the family moved to Osmond Nebraska. While in Osmond, Holly started working for the public schools as a special education paraprofessional so she could be on the same schedule as her husband and children. She continued working with students with high needs in special education as the family moved to Ogallala, Schuyler, then back to Ogallala. She returned to medical assisting upon the familys return to Ogallala in 2015 then started to work for the American Red Cross in North Platte as a collections technician in the fall of 2018. Holly then transferred her position with the ARC to Omaha when she and Greg moved in July of 2019. Holly dedicated her life to helping others while providing comfort and care to those in need. Her unassuming way put those that she was caring for at ease. She loved to work with the students, their families, the patients at the clinics and the donors at the blood drives. She took the time to listen to them and hear their stories. She was humbled by the number of people that reached out to her during her short battle with cancer, she could not understand why those that she only met once or twice would take the time to send their prayers and support. The pride of her life were her children and grandchildren, she loved and supported them unconditionally. She was most happy being with family even though most often they were times of chaos. Holly is survived by her husband, Greg; children and grandchildren, Stacy (Brad) Maxon and their children Gage, Leila, & Koa of San Diego CA.; Elliot (Sarah) Pavlik of Moore OK.; Alex (Ashley) Pavlik and their daughter Jillian of Waverly; Sydney Pavlik and her daughter Audrey of Oak Harbor WA.; & Trey Pavlik and girlfriend Gracie Harmon of Lincoln; her mother Barbara of Lincoln, sisters Marla Carlson, Colleen (John) Carlson-Grodzicki; brothers Jay (Shelly) Carlson and Troy (Krystal) Carlson. Holly will be dearly missed by all of those that knew her.
