Gregory P. Backman was born April 16, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa to Claud and Parthenia (Lee) Backman. Greg grew up in Sioux City and graduated from high school there. He worked in pre-fabricated home construction and, in 1984, he married Joyce Blair in Elk Point, South Dakota. A short time later, they moved to Fremont, Nebraska. Greg held a very active role in the lives of his sons, Chase and Jarrod. He is survived by his wife Joyce Backman of Fremont; sons Chase Backman of Fremont, and Jarrod Backman of Fremont; and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.
