Francis 'Frank' Hood, 81, passed away on December 30th in Fremont, Nebraska, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a resident of Lincoln since 1987. Frank spent the first half of his career as a General Manager for various restaurants throughout the midwest in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and landed in Lincoln as the General Manager of Inflight services and the restaurant and gift shop at the Lincoln Municipal Airport. He later 'retired' from the hospitality industry and became an independent handyman and painter. Frank loved to spend time with his family and in his garden. He always had a dream to be an archeologist, he spent a lot of time 'bottle hunting' and walking around with his metal detector. He was a gifted wordsmith and wrote a cherished collection of poetry. He greatly enjoyed time spent fishing with his best friend Ralph Ireland, and watching his favorite show Oak Island. Being born and raised in southern California, he also loved to swim and surf in the Pacific Ocean in his youth and shared many stories about growing up there.

Frank is survived by his six children: Frances Stevens, Fremont. Michael Hood, Lincoln. Kimberly (Mark) Warren, Lincoln. Johnny (Jenny) Hood, Lincoln. Donny Hood, Lincoln. Jeffery Hood, Oakland. He was a proud grandpa to 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by the love of his life, Patricia Hood. They would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this past October. He was also preceded by his parents Russell and Lucille Hood, his infant son Patrick Hood, and his brother James Hood.

Interment will be at Yankee Hill Cemetery in Lincoln, with services being made by The Nebraska Cremation Society in Wahoo. The family would like to thank his care team with St. Croix Hospice for their compassion, respect, and excellent care. Memorials may be made to the family.
