Born Erwin Eugene "Gene" Cleveland in Chatsworth CA to Everett and Iolene Cleveland on December 22, 1945. Gene went to join his parents in Heaven on March 11, 2021 He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dawn Cleveland and children Megan Cleveland, Ethan Cleveland, Amber Cleveland and daughter-in-law Mary Cleveland. Gene Loved his grandkids more than anything; Elias, Ella, Eveline, Elora and Mireya were the lights of his life and he talked about them all the time. He was born in Bassett Nebraska and lived on the farm but then moved to Chatsworth California where he was raised and studied Music and Education. Teaching kids, business consulting and playing or singing music pretty much consumed his life but Music was a gift he was passionate about and loved to spread it wherever he went. Once retired he and Dawn moved to Lincoln NE where he spent lots of time with his kids and grandkids and keeping up with his extended family throughout Nebraska. Gene spent his life playing the piano, singing and entertaining all the people around him. His voice was not to be missed and never needed announcing. His big personality and boisterous voice will be greatly missed and leave a void in the hearts of so many, especially his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday 03/26/2021 at 3pm at Southview Baptist Church 3434 S 13th St, Lincoln, NE 68502. Reception to follow. All are welcome to join!
