He was a proud Marine that served with honors during Vietnam. He had international kids and grandkids thru AFS including Vinciane (Belgium) and German (Argentina), Anna (Italy), Feña (Chile), Keke (Canada). Doug came from a large family that included siblings, Denny, Don, Duane, Dave, Deb, Donna and Diane. He loved his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He had his constant companion and fur buddy, Ernie by his side. Dad has always been adventurous. He has never found a mountain thathe would not climb or waterfall he wouldn't chase. He was married to his lifelong friend. They were the perfect example of love and family. He dedicated his life and retired from to the Veterans Hospital in Lincoln. Dad was funny, charming, caring, loyal and he loved his family. He never had to forget or forgive, because he never judged or held resentment. Dad loved to travel and be with his family. He went on many trips with his kids and grandkids around the United States and the world. Dad was very active, amazing grandparents. Dad would do anything for any of his family or friends and neighbors. He'd move mountains for all of us. Dad has transformed many times over the years. He once again transformed beautifully with dignity on 07/12/22. Rest In Peace! It was an honor for us, with the support of CHI Hospice to respect your terms, wishes and journey. Your transition was beautiful and thanks for trusting us to participate.
