Dean A. Cunningham, age 60 of Davey was born March 24, 1961 in Lake City, IA, the middle child of James C. and Wanda M. (Orr) Cunningham. He grew up in Lohrville, Iowa until the family moved to Lincoln in the Fall of 1970. He passed away at his home March 1, 2021 after a short, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Dean graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1979 and then earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. He worked for Lincoln Tent and Awning from 1979 until he retired in 2021. Dean is survived by his son Brody (Katrina) Cunningham of Davey; brothers John (Carol) Cunningham of Omaha, and Ivan Cunningham of Lincoln; sister Juanita Cunningham of Davey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Cunningham. Dean has chosen to be cremated and asked for no viewing or formal service. His family has chosen to hold a Celebration of Life which is planned for Sunday, March 13, 1-6 pm at the Isles Reception Hall, 6232 Havelock Avenue, Lincoln, NE 68507. Rather than flowers, memorials are preferred to Capital Humane Society or the Lincoln Food Bank.
