Colleen Denise Best Akiens, beloved daughter, sister, nurturing mother, and Mamo (Grandmother) passed away peacefully on February 9th, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on July 24th, 1956, Colleen lived a life full of love and kindness with devotion to her family and passions.

She is survived by the father of her children, David Claudio Akiens, and their three daughters: Amber Rae Blackshear (Thomas Blackshear), Christina Katherine Prososki (Terry Prososki), and Amanda Marie Akiens. Her siblings Teresa Khoury, Allen Best, and Randall Best. Mamo of Jordan, Devin, Anthony, Christopher, and Addison. Colleen's memory will be cherished by her loved ones and friends who will continue to celebrate her legacy of love and care.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Grace Katherine Best and Lavern Henry Best, as well as her sisters, Linda and Mary Lou.

Known for her nurturing spirit, Colleen was a devoted mother who always put her family's needs first. She was an animal and nature lover who found peace and joy in the natural world. Colleen's warmth, generosity, and love for life will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love and beauty she cherished in life.
