Cheryl Ann Benton, age 62 of Weeping Water, died Sunday, May 26, 2024 at her home. She was born July 13, 1961 in Nebraska City to Floyd and Shirley (Switzer) Bauers. She married Jimmy Wayne Benton and the couple were looking forward to their 40th wedding anniversary in September.

Cheryl spent her life as a homemaker for her family where they found love and good home cooked meals. Her specialty was delicious Turkey Croquettes which were enjoyed by many family members. Cheryl experienced great joy raising her children and lovingly welcomed her grandchildren as they arrived. Her love for children extended beyond the household as she was known to be the babysitter to the hometown neighborhood.

She is survived by her husband Jimmy "Cuz" Benton; father Floyd "Pat" Bauers.

daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Michael Hamilton; brother Michael Bauers; grandchildren EKHO Golda, Sofia Golda, Maelyn Hamilton, August Hamilton; niece Alexandria (Lexie) Bauers; great-niece Amelia Moore; and many other relatives and friends. Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother Shirley Rae Bauers.

The family has chosen to honor Cheryl privately. There will be no public services.
