Cherie Nye, 59, of Greenwood, Ne passed peacefully surrounded by family on September 16th, 2024 in Lincoln Nebraska. She was born August 10th, 1965 in Lincoln, NE to Mary and Orlin Nye. She attended school at Ashland-Greenwood. Cherie worked as a CNA/Med Aide most of her life. Cherie was blessed with two daughters.

Cherie knew no stranger. She was quick to befriend and make you part of her family. She enjoyed all things outdoors, especially yard work, gardening, and horses. Cherie loved fiercely, and she spent most of her life caring for others. Her kindness, laughter, and joking personality will be missed by many.

Cherie leaves behind her daughter Nicole (Brodee) Hansen and the apple of her eye, granddaughter Kailin Nelson. She is survived by brothers Jim Morris, Ronnie Morris, Mike Morris, and Bill Morris. Sisters Sue Nye, Lynn Nye, and Lara Hartwig. Many nieces and nephews and her special friend Jeff Cofflin. Cherie is preceded in death by her daughter Kellie Hansen, her parents Orlin Nye, Mary Nye, and Garry Morris. Sisters Judy Standberg and Rea Norrell, and Brother Dave Mallien.
