Chase T. Backman, age 38 of Fremont, passed away Monday, September 9, 2024. Chase was born February 4, 1986 in Sioux City, Iowa to Gregory and Joyce (Blair) Backman.

A graveside celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska. Family and friends will gather at Riverside Lutheran Church, 1817 Riverside Boulevard, Sioux City, Iowa following the service.

Chase graduated from Fremont High School in 2004, and enjoyed playing on the wrestling and football teams throughout high school. He was big a fan of Husker Football and loved attending many Husker games as well as UN-L wrestling meets with his brother Jarrod and Uncle Doug.

Chase worked as floor manager at Wholestone Farms and, later, at Darling International. He was known for his big heart, love for Christ, and dedication to family. Chase was deeply loved by many. He will be greatly missed by all for his compassion for others and generous nature.

Chase is survived by his mother Joyce Backman; brother and sister-in-law Jarrod and Debbie Backman; nephew Bryce Backman; loving aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his special friend Isabel Procopio. Preceding Chase in death were his father Gregory Backman and grandparents Dennis and Joan Blair.
