Charles Albert Etzrodt, June 7, 1940 – July 7, 2022. Died peacefully in his home surround by his children.
Charles was born to Charles August Etzrodt and Mary Margret McKee in Brackenridge, PA. He proudly
served on the USS Midway from 1958 – 1962. Later, Charles enjoyed a career as an electrical engineer
working for Litton Industries, Teledyne, and Northrup-Grumman. Charles' career sent him all over the
world to exotic locals, living in Greece, England and Hungry. Charles eventually settled in Greece on the
Island of Crete, where he worked on the US Naval Station at Souda Bay until his retirement. He is
survived by his first wife of 26 years, Anne Lange Martin, his children; Michael Thomas Etzrodt, Windy
Marie Barnes, Katherine Anne Theobald (Ron), Christina Lyn Etzrodt, Tiffany Angela James (Aaron),
Alexandra Sipos (George); twelve grandchildren, Teddi, Dustin, Nate, Clara, Raven, Gabe, Danielle,
Finnigan, Jaelyn, Ruby, George, Aries and six great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his
younger brother Johnny Joseph, eldest son Charles Anthony and three grandchildren, Sage Francis, Lilly
Jean, and Zane Anthony.
Charles was a voracious reader, the best water ski instructor to family and friends, and always willing to
share his wealth of knowledge and experience with others.
He liked his pickles sweet, his Jameson neat and his steaks yay
thick.
